Galatians 5:1 says:
Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.
Freedom is defined as having “the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without hindrance or restraint.”
Yeshua has given such freedom by His sacrifice, for us to choose, think freely. In 2 Timothy 1:7, it says, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.” This is the Spirit that lives in us, to empower us to act and to choose to align with God’s Word in truth. That’s the power He has given us. That’s the choice I made for myself, to continue to walk in that freedom fuelled by His power. Dr. Vickylextar reminded us in this week’s message that we’ve been called to something greater than ourselves. Let’s not make excuses or use our freedom as an opportunity to serve the flesh (sin) and be self-centred. But use that freedom to love and serve one another. That’s what it comes to “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.” John 13:34
I’ve chosen to set my heart on the real treasure, Christ, not on men-made religion or traditions. But on God’s Word in truth. To continue to allow it to transform me into His image, and by my actions and the motive of my heart, you can see Him reflected in me.
