new creation process
Pastor Clint shared a powerful testimony of his years-long journey to become the man he is today in Sunday’s service. He shared “The New Creation Process” and described the ups and downs he experienced as a rollercoaster of highs and lows in his faith journey. This journey is not only relatable to that of many Christians, including me but is an essential message in these uncertain times. He described his previous struggles with pride and how he was able to overcome them.
In particular, Pastor Clint shared the following scripture that Pastor Vickylextar shared with him:
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new – 2 Cor. 5:17
He meditated on this scripture and used it in his life, and any time an old habit came up, he addressed it with this scripture. He would remind himself that he was a renewed creation and that all old things had passed away. And despite life being a rollercoaster, he was able to take dominion over actions, fears and thoughts.
As a new creation, we are created in God’s image (Genesis 1:26), and therefore we have authority and dominion over our thoughts and actions.
He shared that our power and dominion are not a prideful or boastful way, but we have this power because we have surrendered our heart and will to God.
While it may be a process, it is all about surrendering to God. We need to humble ourselves and surrender!
