Anxiety – Stress – Guard your heart!
Last Sunday’s message was a continuity of what we had learned the week before about worry, anxiety and stress. We went deeper, and I was amazed to remember that when I was young and going to church, it was so important to be on time, NEVER to be late. Otherwise, we would stay home: my father was quite strict on this. Always being on time for all sorts of situations was/still is part of my behaviour, and I would sometimes raise my voice and be quite stressed out, sensing that I would/could be late.
Now, I know that it is important to be on time: it shows respect, but it is also important not to let any situation put me in a “stress mode” when things don’t go the way I was expecting. When I see that I will not be able to make it on time, I know now that I need to relax and do my best to face the situation. It is quite a relief to know and allows me to stop being anxious about that situation: I need to continue practicing these great life lessons that God gives us. I also received last Sunday one scripture that I cherish a lot and find so important to remember and put into practice:
“Watch over your heart with all diligence, For from it flow the springs of life”
Let’s continue to press on!
