The Great Commander

The Great Commander

The great commander

Today’s message was a great reminder of what a good and mighty God we serve! Pastor David talked about how we have The Great Commander, the I am that I am on our side.

The question is: how do we relate to Him? Anyone can say they know about God, but it’s another thing to truly “know” Him and have relationships with Him. Pastor David went through the scripture in Exodus 3 when God spoke to Moses in the burning bush and Moses said to God, “Suppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is His name?’ Then what shall I tell them?” God said to Moses, “I am who I am” This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I Am has sent me to you.’
(Exodus 3:13-14 NIV)

People can change, but God never changes. He is the same yesterday, today and forever . We were reminded of the importance of examining ourselves on a daily basis to ensure that we are walking on the right path as led by God. Oftentimes, we are led astray by things such as pride, fear, negative emotions etc. when we allow those things to take up more room than God in our lives.

Facing the universe created by our Great Commander Who's says to us ''I am who I am'', the same yesterday, today and forever.

Question for self:
1. What are the things you put above God?
2. What is your response when things don’t work out the way you had hoped?

Do you blame God for decisions you took, knowing very well He disapproved? Or do you take responsibility for your disobedience and repent?

God, even as the Great Commander, continues to give us choices, and He doesn’t change His mind, so let’s make sure to renew our minds daily to make the right decisions to make Abba proud and see all the good things that He will do for us and through us. Let’s walk like we know we have the Great Commander on our side.

“Yeshua the Messiah is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8 TLV)
