Sunday’s service was a different church experience. We did an actual physical and spiritual work-out session led by our very able Pastor Vickylextar, and it threw light on the Armour of God for me in a new way.

God and my spiritual family are interested in my physical, spiritual, and mental health; that means I have all the support I need.

She began the process by casting aside the nice jacket and dressing accessories she had on. In the same way, I should be mindful to dress appropriately and be ready for life’s spiritual faith-building. I can do it by putting away every attitude, care, bad habit, and distraction that stands in my way; and putting on my spiritual attire that is the most appropriate: the Armour of God.

Warm-up session: Interesting to me are the acute spiritual and physical similarities. The daily warm-up scripture (3 John 2  ) speaks about being well, even as my soul prospers. Getting ready for all the possibilities and having great expectations without limiting God’s ability.

The main exercise: How to build faith. I learned that it takes much more than just a desire to look good, healthy, and to be in shape. Rather, it takes hard work, commitment, and endurance (pushing the boundaries of possibilities daily) to reach the goal of strong faith.

God and my spiritual family are interested in my physical, spiritual, and mental health; that means I have all the support I need.

I look forward to this week and the rest of the year to grow and continue to strengthen and build my faith.

Many Are Called But Few Are Chosen (by Gina) https://mycrosspointe.org/many-are-called-but-few-are-chosen-by-gina/ https://mycrosspointe.org/many-are-called-but-few-are-chosen-by-gina/#respond Thu, 14 Oct 2021 23:08:32 +0000 https://mycrosspointe.org/?p=11668 Many are called but few are chosen (Matthew 22:14)

This week we had a family meeting where Pastor Viclylextar shared an update about where we were as a ministry and she also answered any questions we had. Let’s pause here… How awesome is that! I’m very grateful to be in such an environment.

being chosen is a response.

She shared many amazing truths, but what stuck with me was how many are called but few are chosen.  This is because being chosen is a response. It made me reflect on my journey and the days where (My Calling) was so important. It became my pursuit and what I thought was my calling, became my identity. By God’s grace, I was guided to Crosspointe. Where who I am, how my life was going and my relationship with Christ became more important than what I can do for the church.

I learned…

  • My true calling was to be Christ-like.
  • I am loved for who I am in Him and not for what I do.
  • What I do should come from a place of responding to God’s love for me, and not to earn His Love.

It’s amazing to serve God from a place of being content and whole…

Today I am:

  • Healed.
  • Restored.
  • Stronger in my faith and redeemed.

It’s amazing to serve God from a place of being content and whole versus a place of brokenness. Take my word for it lol.

I also realized that being chosen is not a one-time thing or an ultimate goal to attain, it’s a journey. As I continue to walk with God, He will call at different times, in different ways. I will always have the choice to give the right response in order to be chosen. Not just what I think He wants to hear but a true response from the heart.

It has not always been easy, but I am so grateful for my journey.

Humbling Myself (by Pastor Denis) https://mycrosspointe.org/humbling-myself-by-pastor-denis/ https://mycrosspointe.org/humbling-myself-by-pastor-denis/#comments Wed, 06 Oct 2021 03:16:27 +0000 https://mycrosspointe.org/?p=11657 Humbling Myself

Pastor Vickylextar gave us another message that hit home – they all do but some more closely than others. She clearly said that her messages aren’t targeting one or two persons but all of us.

The scripture she gave us (1 Peter 5mentions both young and old, so that covers pretty much everyone who attended the service and reads the bible! This scripture teaches a strong behaviour lesson by saying that God is opposed to the proud, the disdainful, the presumptuous and defeats them. I might use other adjectives such as “know it all”, independent, or false humility (I’m not good enough) but it’s all the same and God will oppose that as well.

God wants me to help others in a humble way with an open heart and with enthusiasm.  I must admit that I sometimes find it hard to do, more specifically when I’m dealing with a family member who knows my hot buttons and I react in a prideful way, that’s a sign that the enemy is roaming around trying to lure me away, but I must reposition myself immediately

I still have work to do on humbling myself, because pride pops up very quickly even when I think that it’s not pride that’s why it’s important for me to keep a clear mind and be on the lookout and always ask God to show me these prideful traps.
