In Whom is my Faith?
“Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God” (Romans 10:17). Fear also comes by hearing. To what are you choosing to listen?
Today, fear seems to be one of the most common emotions we face as we grapple with the various effects of a global pandemic, an uncertain economy, and social and political injustices worldwide. Every day, we are bombarded with a myriad of bad news. With all that is going on around us, a good question to ask yourself is: “In whom is my faith?”
Are you putting your faith in the economy, in political leaders, or in material things that change from day to day? Or are you putting your faith in the One who does not change yet is able to change all things? When our faith is in Christ, we may still face challenges, but we are reminded that we are not alone and that we can ask Him to send the right people who will help us overcome the trials we face. We can also ask for strength to submit to God and to obey His word.
Today, I encourage you to put your faith in Christ. Take time to listen to what His word says about you; how much He loves and cares for you, how much He yearns to take the load you have been carrying for far too long, and how He wants to transform you by loving you back to wholeness. Today, I encourage you to allow the Word of God to resonate within you and transform your fear into faith.
